I’ve had 2 canvasses laying around forever not knowing what to do with them, then it finally hit me and I started fiddling around with masking tape which is how I ended up with (somewhat) of a geometric painting.

… don’t mind my husband’s shoe keeping the door open

I first started with laying out base lines, each to your own preferred inch widths, I believe mine were 3 inches apart or so;

After laying out the base lines, I randomly started laying out shapes, anywhere from half a Herringbone to Chevron, to a little zig zag;

Then I picked 3 different acrylic paint colors and layered all 3 on top of each other. Never mind if a square is not completely filled in, I just brush stroked away until it looked like enough;

While the paint was still wet (you get your cleanest lines peeling off while wet!) I de-masked the canvas and tadaa, she was done. Despite de-masking while wet I still had blowouts, I had some tape pieces that weren’t as stuck down on the canvas as they should’ve been, causing the paint to seep under it. But overall, I really like it.
Looking back now I find the masking tape I used was a little too thick for this canvas, but it was all I had laying around so I had to make it work!
